Our church practices a type of open participation. You may comment, ask questions, make prayer requests or share things you believe are initiated by our Lord at appropriate times during the service.

1 Corinthians 14:26-32 Guidelines for Sharing

►Be prepared to share Ask, seek, knock. Obey by sharing what the LORD tells you to share.

►We want to encourage everyone, who has a word from the Lord, to share and participate in our services.

►If the Lord gives you a word, it will be precise and clear. It is our flesh that always wants to add to, to interpret, to leave out and thus dilute what the Lord desires for the body.

►If you are not certain if you have a word of prophecy, plan what you want to say.

►If more than one item is to be shared write a brief outline of what you want to share. This keeps you on track. An outline helps to prevent repetition.

►Pray over what you have to share. Not everything should be shared with everyone.

►Keep it brief.Others want to share also. In general, try to limit sharing to 1 to 3 minutes. If it is over 3 minutes, check with the elders to see if we need to schedule it for another service.

►Keep the focus positive if possible. Even if you bring a negative word you can “sandwich” (+ – +) Positive-Negative-Positive.

►Sometimes God gives us messages just for a particular person or group. If in doubt discuss with the elders.

► Unnecessary details will not edify. Revelations of personal matters are not appropriate.

Food Pantry: Every Friday

Pantry is every Friday starting at 7am until all the food is taken. (New Clients need to complete an intake form.)

You may go through the line numerous times if we have enough food. After your first turn you need to wait until all clients have had an opportunity to shop and second round shopping is announced.

Once a month we provide our clients over the age of 60 who financially qualify a federal commodity box that supplies additional food. This box of food will be distributed on the 3rd Friday of every month. If you would like to apply, please call Genevieve at the office, 512-303-3891, or complete an application form on Friday morning when you come to register for the Food Pantry. For this program, new clients must provide proof of residence and income per federal guidelines.

The most important activity of our Food Pantry is to provide an opportunity for PRAYER with each person when they come to get groceries.  Our auditorium is open at 7 AM for registration; during this time opportunities are afforded for those who desire to share personal reports, testify and pray. Words of encouragement are offered by Christians from our church and other local churches.

Value of property dedicated to Grace Food Pantry including appliances, walk-in freezer/refrigerator, shelving and fixtures: $73,520.00. Size of Food Pantry: 2484 square feet. Territory served: All of Bastrop County; parts of Caldwell and Travis counties. Present addition to food pantry: Walk-in Refrigerator/Freezer (630 cu. ft.) to enable us to have more fresh food & take advantage of bulk frozen items when offered. Number of other freezers and refrigerators: 6. Next major addition to food pantry: remodel entire pantry area to allow for more room for food and to allow for client choice for as many items as possible. This will also allow a smoother traffic flow. Done. Year 2014 projects include a more comfortable area for clients to wait in and visit when coming to our pantry.

Celebrate Recovery

With Mentor: Ted Hollingsworth and Rudolph Paltauf

Celebrate Recovery is a Christian 12-step program to help those recovering from alcohol, drugs, and other addictions. It meets all the requirements of court mandated addiction recovery programs. Celebrate Recovery holds meeting every Wednesday at 7 PM in Annex building. If the need arises we will hold meetings on other nights as well.

Strong Tower Ministry

Strong Tower Ministry is a Christian Residential Drug and Alcohol Addiction Rehabilitation ministry in Hitchcock, Texas that will enable a person to break their addictions and restore a God-given purpose in their life.

Michael and Kendra Adams are in their twelfth year of ministry. Michael has ten years experience with Teen Challenge Ministries prior to beginning Strong Tower ministries. They currently have 20 recovering adults and some of their families who have committed to at least six months of intensive recovery thinking and ministry seven days a week. Local Jail Ministry

Nationwide, the numbers are staggering: Nearly 2.4 million people behind bars, even though over the last 20 years the crime rate has actually dropped by more than 40 percent. “The United States has about 5% of the world’s population, but we have 25% of the world’s prisoners – we incarcerate a greater percentage of our population than any country on Earth,” said Michael Jacobson, director of the non-partisan Vera Institute of Justice. He also ran New York City’s jail and probation systems in the 1990s. A report by the organization, “The Price of Prisons,” states that the cost of incarcerating one inmate in Fiscal 2010 was $47,421 per year. “In states like Connecticut, Washington state, New York, it’s anywhere from $50,000 to $60,000,” he said. Our epidemic of incarceration costs us taxpayers $63.4 billion a year. Grace Baptist Church Ministers to prisoners and their families by going to Caldwell County Jail on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM and to Bastrop County Jail on Friday evenings at 7:30 PM. David Miller, Ted Hollingsworth and  Josh McAlister preach to the prisoners. Grace also provides an “Angel Tree” ministry at Christmas for the children of the prisoners. We obtain the names of the children of the prisoners that come to services and give them out to families in our church in November. The families then buy appropriate gifts and deliver them the week of Christmas in the name of the incarcerated father.There are from 100 up to 300 salvation decisions made each year in our jail ministry. Our Jail ministers are also on call to counsel with prisoners and their families. In addition, we attempt to follow up with prisoners when they are released.

We currently have about 20 prisoners who come to our church service each week in Lockhart (Caldwell county) and about 50 in Bastrop county.
